November 2008

Dear Friend of the Worship On The Way Radio Network:

This November, as your family prepares to enjoy the great American tradition of Thanksgiving, we’d like you to see how the same principles that apply to that celebration table also apply to our partaking, as the Lord’s Family, of His Table.

In his printed resource, Thanksgiving Table Manners, Pastor Jack Hayford (heard weekdays at 7 AM and 7 PM on your Worship On The Way Radio Network) compares the celebration we enjoy at our Thanksgiving table and at the Lord’s Table. This helpful resource can be yours just for the asking during this month of November. Contact us today—online at www.ktlw.net or by phone at 888-779-5859.

However, nearly 50 million in our country cannot join us in celebration at a Thanksgiving table or at the Lord’s table. These are the human beings who have been murdered by abortion since the Roe v Wade decision of 1973. It is sadly noteworthy that 25 million of those individuals would have been old enough to vote this year! (1) For which presidential candidate do you think they would vote? Would they vote for a pro-life candidate or a pro-abortion candidate?

The modern Message translation of Romans 12:2 says,
“Don’t be so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it, without even thinking.”

Unfortunately, this presidential election presents a stark contrast between a pro-life candidate and one who is the most pro-abortion candidate in American history. If elected President of the United States, the pro-abortion candidate has said:

  • His first act would be to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (2) that would undo all the pro-life legislative protections for abortion-targeted pre-born babies that pro-lifers have gained in the last 35 years.
  • He has promised to appoint only pro-abortion nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court. That would entrench “abortion-on-demand” for another whole generation. That would be a disaster for our country and a death sentence for millions more innocent, pre-born babies.
  • He is opposed to the sanctity of marriage, as defined for 5,000 years in human history, as a union of one man and one woman. Not content with domestic partnership laws, which give legal rights and civil responsibilities to same-sex partners, he is determined to do away with traditional marriage protections, as one of his first acts. (3)

Indoctrination of young school children about gay marriage is already happening in California schools. The "public relations nightmare" of a San Francisco first grade class being taken on an official school field-trip to a lesbian wedding was followed last week by a Hayward elementary school having a "National Coming Out Day" for kindergarteners, instruction in which parents were told they could not opt-out, according to recent news accounts. Acceptance of same-sex unions will inevitably punish families who oppose them.

If my people who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,  then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14NKJV

You have the democratic opportunity and Kingdom responsibility to prayerfully review the records and rhetoric of all candidates, regarding these moral issues, and then to be a part of a Kingdom solution by voting your values in this election. May God bless America—and save her people!

Sincerely yours,

Gary Curtis
